The Journal of Microbiome and Precision Health (MPH) is pleased to announce this Special Issue: “Microbiome-Driven Precision Health: Mechanisms, Biomarkers, and Translational Innovation”. Aligned with MPH’s core mission to connect microbiome science with precision medicine and public health innovation, this thematic focus invites rigorous, innovative research that unpacks the mechanistic links between microbial communities and human health, and advances the translation of these insights into actionable precision healthcare solutions. We seek contributions that leverage data-driven approaches, systems biology tools, and clinical evidence to drive progress in microbiome-based precision health.
The microbiome—encompassing the trillions of microorganisms residing in and on the human body—has emerged as a pivotal regulator of human health, with profound impacts on metabolism, immunity, and disease susceptibility across the lifespan. As precision medicine evolves toward personalized, data-driven healthcare, the integration of microbiome science with systems biology, bioinformatics, and clinical research has opened unprecedented avenues for targeted diagnostics, tailored therapeutics, and preventive strategies. From modulating microbial communities to treat metabolic disorders, to identifying microbiome-derived biomarkers for early disease detection, this interdisciplinary field is reshaping how we approach health and disease—bridging bench-side discoveries with real-world clinical application.
